First of all I'm sad to say I probably haven't been on here in over year and I'm sorry if this is a duplicate discussion.  It's just been so hard to get on the actual computer, not my iPhone, with my busy toddler.

I'm a transplant to the Santa Clarita Valley and don't have a lot of local friends to get information from regarding schools.  My son is almost 19 months and it's been on my mind to seek information for a while now and since he'll be 2 soon I thought I needed to get on the ball.

Can anyone please refer me to a great preschool.  I'm a SAHM so money is a bit on a budget but not a complete restriction if it meant getting him in somewhere fabulous.

I appreciate the time so much!

I just went throught this little danece finding my son a day care (he's 14 months old) and came up with a few different preschool options as well.

Here is what I found:

- Rise and Shine Preschool, its a small Christian Daycare Preschool that we heard from a bunch of long time locals was a great school. We just signed my son up for this school and he starts on the 24th. (Its located on Wiley Canyon)

- Great Beginnings Preschool - We used to attend this daycare and I found it very hard to communicate with their staff. Mostly spanish speaking and the staff rotates out so much it's nearly impossible to learn the names of the poeple watching your child. That was NOT okay with me, so we pulled him.

- I have heard GREAT things about Rainbrow Promise Preschool (http://www.rainbowpromise.org/index.htm) although, this too is a religious school. we are not of any faith, but I found that the schools that have a religious base, made me much more comfortable when I went on site, very friendly teachers and the kids all seemed so happy- maybe that's just me though!

I would be curious to hear what you end up doing. and if you find a great school please pass the info along!

Thanks.

Amber

I put 2 kids through pre school at Creative Years and really liked it.  My last child went to Primetime Preschool, and we both loved it, a little less expensive than CY.

Send me a msg if you want more info.

I am and will forever be a HUGE Christ Lutheran Preschool fan. They're incredible, hardly ever any change in teachers and they're so caring and loving. And the play yard is huge and safe!

The program at COC is incredible. Full title: College of Canyons / Early Childhood Education or COC/ECE. My daughter went there for two years with Teacher Mimi (whom I adore and still keep in touch with). The style of this preschool is learning through play, which we loved.

For pre-k we attended Noah's Park (at NorthPark Church) which was a co-op the year we attended (more affordable with parents volunteering in the class). I don't know if this has changed. Mrs. Worsely (Mindy) was our teacher and she is now the Director. She is sweet as pie. This curriculum is more structured and was a great transition to kindergarten.

Good Luck!

Monarch Academy for Young Children is the absolute best preschool in town. I toured all the schools available to us, and ultimately sent my son to Monarch Academy. We have been there for over 2 years, and I am gearing up to send my younger son there. I can't say enough positive things about this institution, it is run by an incredibly brilliant and loving couple, who manage to install terrific and nurturing teachers. It has a very small intimate family feel ... and we have seen it transform our oldest boy with an explosion of learning and emotional growth. If I could have created a school from SCRATCH for my boys, it would be this school.

Good luck.
