I had to have my daugther's pre-k fill out a drdp last month & their answers were drastically different from what I had filled out last May (she wasn't in school yet then). What exactly do these drdp's mean? What happens if the scores are low?

Hello parents,

I just wanted to let you know that as a teacher for children with special needs I also offer child care. My swim season begins to slow down so I can offer this service as well . Our home has a large trampoline, swimg set for children with special needs a climbing wall and a oversized jacuzzi for relaxation. I do finger painting as well. If you need a break and want a safe place for oyur child to play feel free to call me 298-5669

Conzuelo,
Mrs. P :)

Thanks vickey but no, I no longer practice with dr singer. I was there for two years. I still live in the area.

We recently went to Dr. Singer and LOVED HIM. My son (5, SPD dx) had had nothing but traumatic dental experiences before, but he actually did fine with Dr. Singer. I'm not sure if it was the doc or just where my son is right now developmentally speaking, but we loved Dr. Singer so much.

By the way, I asked about Dr. Laura and they said she doesn't practice with Dr. Singer anymore???

FYI they seem to have a decoration theme every year or something; currently it is something with Disney scary-type things. If your child frightens easily, you might ask about when the decor will be changing??

They do have video games in the waiting room, and movies playing above every seat. It's totally set up for kids and everybody was super nice.

Tori :)

Dentists -- our own group founder here is Dr. Laura who practices w/ Dr. Singer in Valencia. Call 661-259-6142 (both board certified pediatric dentists).

My kids see Dr. Siu at Valencia Pediatric Dentistry. I have also heard good things about Adventure Dental in Canyon Country.

Hello Laura,

Thank you for the kind words. Yes he had a wonderful time! Graduation was great as well. Valencia High School is great... he has the best teacher in the world. Mrs. Bauer is amazing!

I was overwhelmed thinking about my son getting older. What helped me overcome my fears were conferences. I'm from NC therefore, I attended all conferences on the eastern seaboard. YAI is a non-profit organization located in New York. They have awesome programs and information regarding older children and adults with disabilities. Research was helpful just don't get overwhelmed with information. Take it one day at a time!

Hi Laura! My daughter, Caitlin, will be starting there in the fall along with one of her SELPA/Early Start classmates. Caitlin has dwarfism and her friend has CP caused by a stroke in uetero. They'll both be in Miss Cristin's class. We obviously haven't attended yet, but we've toured twice and spent time talking to the teachers and they all seem really great! They even have a fantastic APE room with tons of equipment that you'd never get at a typical school site. We plan on mainstreaming Caitlin for her 4yo program, but I think this year at Valley View will be a big help with the transition.

My wife and I both work full time, so Caitlin obviously needs full time day care, so she'll be going to Town & Country Daycare in Placerita for the 2nd half of the day. If you have any questions let me know!
